Mandelic Acid 5% Prep Water

I was looking for a gentle yet effective exfoliant because I noticed my skin peeling whenever I put on my skincare products. For reference, I have sensitive acne prone skin. I heard great things about this product and decided to give it a go. Although it is quite expensive (I’m a student, so 24€ is a lot for me), I would recommend this product! It definitely helped me get rid of dead skin cells without stripping my skin. Since this product contains mandelic acid, which is known to help with hyperpigmentation, I feel like it helped lighten up my acne scars as well, which is a huge plus. I use it two, sometimes three times a week, by putting a little bit on a cotton pad and gently wiping it over my skin. You don’t need much for it to work, so the bottle is definitely going to last me many months, which makes the 24€ worth it!

I love it and it doesn’t sting

I was able to use this product only once because I had to take a break due to hormonal acne flare-ups and skin sensitivity around my menstrual cycle. I currently use it once a week, but haven’t been able to build a consistent routine yet.

The texture is very watery, and I applied it with a cotton pad. It didn’t cause any burning, redness, or irritation on my skin. However, I did feel like it made my skin a bit drier after use. I paired it with my usual lightweight moisturizer and a hydrating mist, but still felt the need to reapply moisture afterward.

Since I’ve only used it once, I can’t say if it had a visible impact yet. I’m currently focusing on repairing my skin barrier, so I’ve paused using this product to avoid any further sensitivity. Once my skin is more stable, I’m looking forward to giving it another try and observing the long-term effects.

Easy to apply and does what it's supposed to. However, it was a bit too strong for my sensitive skin—I felt a slight burning sensation.

Wanted to try this exfoliation because of the reviews. I have a very sensitive skin, and can’t really go with the more aggressive products.
I use this exfoliation for almost 4 weeks now, and I really like it. I do feel the product work but absolutely not aggressive on my skin. A good light exfoliant, really makes my skin texture look and feel more clean and fresh

I love love this product, very gentle and does not burn

I’m have only used it one every week or so considering it feels quite potent/concentrated even if it’s only 5%. I feel like it starts working immediately so I am happy with how it works. No need to put a lot of it each use as I have mentioned it is powerfully so just have to be careful to not overuse it
